The problem
When researching competitor ads, the strongest indicator that a creative actually works is how long it's been running. Brands kill underperforming ads fast, so anything that's been live for 30+ days is almost certainly a proven winner that has survived rigorous performance testing.
Right now in Foreplay, there's no way to filter a brand's library by run-time. That means I have to manually scroll through every ad, check launch dates one by one, and eyeball which ones are evergreen vs. just launched yesterday. On a brand with hundreds of active ads, this turns a 5-minute research task into an hour of clicking.
The request
Add a "Run-Time" filter (alongside the existing filters for format, platform, etc.) with preset ranges:
7+ days
15+ days
30+ days
3+ months
6+ months
12+ months
A custom date range input on top of that would be the cherry on the cake for power users.
Why this matters
For creative strategists and performance marketers, run-time is the #1 first-pass filter. It instantly separates noise (ads launched this week that might flop) from signal (ads that have proven themselves). Without it, the library is a haystack. With it, it's a curated list of winners worth studying.
I'll be honest: another tool in this space already has this exact filter, and it's the main reason I open it for run-time-based research instead of Foreplay. Closing that gap would make Foreplay my one-stop shop — and I suspect a lot of other users feel the same.
Would love to see this prioritized 🙏
